Dermal fillers are a great way to reduce wrinkles, bring back, or maintain a youthful appearance. Dermal fillers are an injectable solution designed to plump and add volume to the soft tissue under the skin, reducing wrinkles and restoring a smoother appearance. They can also be used as an alternative to surgery to help lift the face as well as enhance certain areas that need more contour/definition such as the jawline, cheeks and chin. Fillers are administered through very small injections to specific areas for the desired results. Depending upon the formulation, results are temporary to longer-lasting and the filler is eventually absorbed by the body. Some people may need more than one injection to achieve the wrinkle-smoothing effect. Skin and Body Med offers some of the most effective formulations of dermal fillers available and we look forward to meeting you at your consult.

what to expect with fillers ...
how do they work?
To restore and rejuvenate your facial appearance, tiny injections of a dermal filler product, created from either natural or synthetic ingredients, are administered directly into specific areas. The purpose of dermal fillers is to provide the perfect volume to cause the wrinkles, folds, or sunken areas to diminish. You can expect results to last from six months to up to two years; semi-permanent or permanent fillers can last up to five years or more.
Before treatment, you’ll have a consultation with your provider. During this consultation, you’ll establish which areas of the face you’ll have treated, and how much filler will be injected. Your provider will also ask questions about your medical history, to make sure you’re a good candidate for treatment, in addition to performing a facial analysis.
Your provider will then give you instructions on how to prepare for treatment, including what you should avoid. Bruising and swelling can be minimized by avoiding alcohol and NSAID medications for one to two weeks before treatment.
what fillers do you have?
Boca Skin and Body Med utilizies trusted dermal fillers to meet your aesthetic goals. Our facial fillers include:
Before the injection is administered, the area will be cleaned and prepped for the procedure. You may be given a topical anesthetic to numb the area. Then, a precise amount of filler will be injected beneath the skin. On average, patients receive one to two syringes of their chosen facial filler per visit. Your appointment can take anywhere from 15-60 minutes, depending on the area of the face that’s being treated.
does it hurt?
Topical anesthesia applied before the procedure will minimize injection discomfort. Most of the fillers we use are premixed with lidocaine to further ensure comfort.
Typically there isn’t pain after having a dermal filler treatment, even after the topical numbing wears off. Clients may experience some sensitivity, redness, bruising, or swelling in the area. This is especially true for injections done to the lip area.
back to business
Recovery time varies for each patient and for each type of filler injected. You can resume most activities right away, but it is generally recommended that you avoid intense physical activity for the first 24-48 hours to minimize swelling and bruising. Most post-procedure discomfort or swelling can be relieved with topical icing and massage and will improve within a matter of hours or just a few days.
